Rosemary Nyirumbe
Director of the St. Monica’s Girls Tailoring School.
Sister Rosemary is the 2007 winner of the CNN Heroes award. She transformed a small girls tailoring school into a space of refuge and rehabilitation for child mothers. The school houses over three hundred young women a year and offers vocational, mothering and life skills training. Sister Rosemary has a passion for women’s health (she is also a midwife!), and is a fierce advocate for self reliance and education as a means to women’s emancipation. She is also a master cake decorator and loves strong coffee.
